From idea to the first working version

# App development: your idea as an MVP.

## Your idea as a working MVP, built hand in hand, with code you can take over in the end.

The **first working version** to test, show and launch. We first sharpen together **what it is really about**, and leave out everything not needed at the start.

Whether a **web app**, a **mobile app for iOS and Android** or the **backend and cloud** behind it: your MVP is typically ready in **about 2 to 3 months**.

## Why an MVP

MVP stands for **Minimum Viable Product**: the smallest version of your product that already delivers **real value**. Not half-finished, but deliberately reduced to the core.

Instead of putting months and a lot of money into one big whole nobody knows will land, you get something **in front of real users early**. You learn what works and only invest further **when it pays off**.

Especially for founders and businesses **without an in-house dev team** this is the safest way: **you bring the vision**, I build the first version.

Show first, then build

## Focus on the core

Together we define **which features are really needed** for your product to do its job. Everything else comes later, once it is clear it is needed.

On request there is a **clickable prototype** first, so you can show and test your idea **before any code is written**.

In the browser or in your pocket

## Web app or mobile app

Your MVP can be a **web app or SaaS** running in the browser, or a **mobile app for iOS and Android**. Which way fits depends on **where your users are**.

One example is **HeartLead**: an MVP app for dog trainers built on commission, with a guided training flow of video and decision tree, dog profile, maps and community.

What is behind the app

## Backend & cloud

Behind almost every app there is more than the interface: **user accounts, data, an API** and an **admin area** where you run your product.

I build that **right along with it**, from one source. For HeartLead, for example, the app comes with its own **management cloud for the trainers**.

In about 2 to 3 months

## Hand in hand to launch

You **make the decisions**, I implement and explain what happens along the way. You regularly see the current state and can give **feedback early**.

That way a typical MVP is ready in **about 2 to 3 months**, fast enough to learn early and thorough enough for a **solid start**.

After launch

## What comes next

I help you with **publishing in the App Store and on Google Play**. After that you decide how to continue: I **keep developing the product**, based on what your users say.

Or you **hand over to your own team**: clean, documented code that is **yours**. On request I also take over **hosting and operations** of the app backend and cloud.

## How your MVP comes together

1. Sharpen the idea We clarify **which problem** your MVP solves, for which **target group**, and what the first version must do.
2. Concept & prototype I plan features, data and interface, on request with a **clickable prototype**.
3. Development I build app, backend and cloud, and you **regularly see the progress**.
4. Launch Testing the MVP with real users and first **customers**, collecting feedback and, on request, **publishing in the App Store and on Google Play**.
5. Continue or hand over Further development and operations with me, or **handover to your team** with code and documentation.

## What does it cost to have an app built?

The price depends **on scope**, so there is no flat rate. After a short conversation you get a **rough estimate**.

Depending on the project, billing is a **fixed price after the concept** or **based on effort**. We agree beforehand which way fits you. For **hosting and operations** after launch, monthly costs are added, separate from development.

### Frequently asked questions

What is an MVP?

MVP stands for **Minimum Viable Product**: the **first working version** of your product with the features it really needs. It lets you test your idea **with real users** from your target group before investing in the full build.

What is the difference between a prototype and an MVP?

A **prototype** or click dummy shows how the product should look and feel, with nothing programmed behind it yet. An **MVP** really works: users sign up, data is stored, and you get **real feedback from the market**. We often start with the prototype and then build the MVP.

How long does an MVP take?

Usually **about two to three months**. On request there is a **clickable prototype** first, so you can show and test the idea before any code is written.

Web app or mobile app?

It depends on **where your users are**. A web app or SaaS runs in the browser, a mobile app on **iOS and Android**. I build both including the backend and help with publishing to the App Store and Google Play.

What happens after the MVP?

You decide: **further development** with me, **handover to your own team** or hosting and operations from one source. You own the code and are not tied to me.

How is it billed?

Either as a **fixed price after the concept** or **by effort**, depending on how clear the scope is at the start.
