Every now and then someone asks me: "Elsewhere a website costs €500, why is it €2,500 with you?" A fair question. Here is my honest answer.
What €500 means in hours
A website with structure, copy, images, a form, testing and go-live takes time. At €500, only a few hours are left for all that. It only works if hardly anything is made individually: a template or an AI site builder, filled in quickly and put online.
These days such sites are often built by people who do not know the technology behind them themselves. The AI supplies layout and copy, and the result looks tidy at first glance. Why so many websites then look alike is covered in the article Individual company website instead of an AI template.
What is missing
- A face of your own: templates look alike. Your business gets lost among the others.
- Technology that holds up: loading speed, clean code and the basics for Google and AI search do not happen by themselves.
- Someone who is there: the form stops delivering, the site is offline, an update breaks something. At €500 there is often nobody left to reach who can fix it.
In the end you often pay twice: once for the site and once for the repair or a rebuild.
What you get from me
I build every website myself, from structure to go-live. You have one fixed contact in Enger in the Herford district, the site runs on German servers, and if something gets stuck, I take care of it.
So you know where you stand up front, there are three packages at a fixed price:
- Ready to go for €2,500: up to 10 pages, responsive design, contact form, SEO and AI basics, go-live.
- Get found for €3,000: plus Google Business Profile and the 5 most important business directories.
- Stay on it for €3,500: plus an ongoing SEO check every quarter and 2 hours of changes per month. Because SEO does not work overnight.
All prices are net of VAT. On top comes a monthly fee from around €70 for hosting, updates and security, as long as the site is hosted with me.
In short
A cheap site is built quickly. A site that fits your business, gets found and still runs in two years takes more time. I take that time.
